One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to spend extra time with people during really special times in their lives. I get to be up close and personal at weddings, when people physically stand in line to congratulate the couple I’ve spent the whole day with. I get to hold and soothe and snuggle little babies in their first days of life. They go so fast, and I just can’t get enough of those first few days and weeks. The privilege is amplified even more when it’s a sweet friend’s baby.
You have seen this adorable family before… My friend Meredy had her fourth baby a couple of weeks ago. This came at a time when I was feeling particularly sad that my own baby was turning one and starting to lose those baby features. When Meredy asked me to do her newest baby’s infant portraits, I was thrilled!
Big sis is just as smitten as can be, and kept checking on her baby during our session.Meredy told me that one of the things that made her want another baby was the way my sweet Adelaide gazed at me as an infant. Here you go Meredy- your own perfectly loving gaze. John gave each of his girls these necklaces for their “birth”day present. Don’t you just love a big ‘ole daddy with his baby girl?Poor baby. The things we do for pictures. Don’t you love how the 3 are finally posing just right, but baby is all done? A little glimpse into the lives of the Hogues here.Sweet big sis is almost two, so we’ll end by saying “Happy Birthday ME!”
