You should know that I go to the beach a lot between the months of December and May. The heat and the crowds are a little too oppressive for me come summer. Give me winter and spring at the beach and I’m a happy girl. A snowbird, I guess! So, these photos were from our trip for New Year’s Eve. We packed in our little condo and had such a wonderful time!
What I’m best at AND enjoy most, is pictures of people. I love capturing expressions and moments in time, that otherwise might be lost and forgotten. I love emotion and buildings and flowers just do not emote. But, I like to challenge myself. So, occasionally, often at the beach, I like to escape my large and loud family and take some pictures of the unique buildings and sites down on 30-A. An occasional emotion (person) does creep in. One of the places I most often escape in the winter is Alys Beach. I find the white walls of the buildings calming and the color and details all around intriguing. Texture and patterns draw me in particularly. Look at how the star pattern on this door is repeated in the ceiling on the balcony.
