While I primarily capture couples’ wedding days, I love when I have the opportunity to photograph the meaningful moments that lead up to the big day. Jayne and Merrill’s elegant rehearsal dinner at The Club was one of those unforgettable nights—a perfect prelude to their wedding celebration.
Rehearsal Dinner at The Club
The Club is a stunning private venue in Birmingham, that features a light and airy space, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, which bathed the room in soft natural light. It created a dreamy atmosphere that set the stage for a night filled with love and laughter.
Barbara, the mother of the groom, thoughtfully planned this evening with the talented Sarah Tedder of Kindred Weddings. Sarah was an absolute joy to work with—warm, professional, and incredibly talented. I can’t wait to work with her again in the future. All the details of the event were impeccable, from the elegantly set tables to the breathtaking florals by Garden Party Designs.
Stunning Details
The floral arrangements were a perfect balance of modern and timeless. Long rectangular tables featured low, lush white blooms, while round tables were adorned with tall, clear vases overflowing with fresh white florals. The addition of greenery, flickering white candles, and sophisticated gold-rimmed dinner plates tied everything together beautifully.
Bride-to-be Jayne was simply radiant, exuding joy as she celebrated with her closest friends and family. It was evident how much she cherished being surrounded by her people. Merrill, her devoted fiancé, hardly took his eyes off her all evening. Their connection and excitement for their big day was evident all the entire time as they laughed and enjoyed each other as well as the company of their loved ones.
A highlight of the night was the touching toast from Jayne’s father, Jay Jacobs, a well-known figure in the SEC world and his beloved daughter’s namesake. His speech filled with love, pride, and emotion hardly left a dry eye in the room. Adding a personal touch, Jayne’s signature cocktail, an Aperol Spritz, was both delicious and refreshing. This Italian wine-based cocktail was perfect for this pre-wedding celebration! To end the evening, we were treated to a gorgeous sunset that we could enjoy from the patio. It was truly a magical night and the beginning of an incredible wedding weekend.
