Callen was one of the most beautiful brides I’ve seen. It COULD be because I’ve seen how beautiful her heart is over the years as I watched her grow up at our church, Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church, and as I watched her love my teenager as the girls discipleship leader in our youth group. She was so overjoyed to be marrying Nick! Callen’s family threw a marvelous party for their outdoor Birmingham wedding reception at the park across from the church. Her mom, who is an art teacher, put so much thought and work into the beautiful reception, and the end result was gorgeous.
My dear friend’s husband performed a really personal ceremony, as he was her youth pastor growing up. The bride and groom waited to see each other until the ceremony, and I think you can see how special that was in his precious face watching her walk down the aisle.
The bridesmaid’s wore lovely coral dresses that complemented the color palette of the wedding flawlessly. Obviously, Callen’s choices of some of my favorite vendors made it even more fun to capture as there was beauty everywhere!! I especially loved the gorgeous and colorful florals by Carolyn Friday and Birdsong in Bloom.
Outdoor Tented Birmingham Wedding Reception
One of my favorite parts of the day was the outdoor tented reception itself. The open-air dance floor allowed guests to dance freely without feeling closed in, and the breeze rolling through the lawn made and the twinkling lights strung around the property created a romantic vibe. Cozy seating areas dotted around the grass invited people to relax, chat, and soak in the evening. Callen and Nick and all their friends and family danced and celebrated together. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful day.
