This wedding proves to me again that my favorite ones are weddings when the bride and groom just want to elope, but they have a beautiful day instead because their families want to celebrate and they want good pictures! Janna and John called me only a couple months before their wedding and have reminded me several times that the pictures were the whole reason for the day. They’re clearly best friends and it was such a happy day! Their lakeside wedding at Blackridge was a dream!
Lakeside Wedding at Blackridge
The venue where they got married was actually the clubhouse of the neighborhood, Blackridge. It was a beautiful venue, but my favorite part was the lake!!!! If you know me at all, you know how happy I was. Their wedding ceremony took place outside the clubhouse with views of the lake behind them. We of course took advantage of the backdrop for their wedding portraits too!
At the reception, I was obsessed with the beautiful tables they had set for a sit-down dinner. I also loved all the personal touches from their wedding day, like Janna making cupcakes as the groom’s cake. To end the night there was a sparkler send off where the newlyweds drove off on a pontoon boat, which is always going to win my heart 🙂 When getting married on a lake, this is an absolute must!
